ITV Endeavour: Shaun Evans' forgotten ex-girlfriend who was once named 'hottest' woman in the world

When it comes to celebrity romances, some stars might regret a few of them more than others.

The likes of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake or Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt might look back on their relationships and feel like it was a bad dream.

But some ex-lovers might look at their past and think fondly or even wonder how they could have won the heart of someone so stunning and talented.

ITV’s Endeavour's Shaun Evans might be thinking that very same thing when he takes a trip down memory lane.

And although he has his own legion of fans who view him as the sexiest actor alive according to Glamour Magazine, a long time before that he found himself with the most attractive woman in the world.

Shaun dated Andrea Corr from the Irish pop rock sensation, The Corrs and they stayed together for four years.

During the height of the band's fame in the early 90s and 2000s, the pair shared a romance from 2002 to 2006.

At the time, the popular group gained huge success and went on to sell 40 million albums and remain one of the only bands to have a number one and number two UK album in the charts at the same time.

During that period, Shaun was still carving out his acting career with roles in the Channel 4 TV series Teachers as the character John Paul Keating.

Whereas the Irish singer’s star was rising and she had been voted the most attractive woman in the world by a poll conducted by Hello Magazine readers in 2001 and 2004.

She told the magazine: “I’m very flattered. I’d really like to thank everyone who took the trouble to vote for me”.

The pair’s worlds collided when they met on the set of a film called The Great Ceili War, in which Shaun played Teddy the Flautist while Andrea took on the role of Anne, a folk violinist.

However, sweet music didn’t last between the pair and they broke up in 2007 as Andrea told the Irish Independent that she didn’t feel she had wasted four years.

She said: "I don’t look back and think, ‘Oh God, I wasted four years.’ I do have faith. I would not step into marriage lightly.

“I am not married by my own choice, not because no one wanted to marry me.”

Shaun has continued acting and was catapulted into fame with his performance as a young Endeavour Morse in ITV's hit series Endeavour set in the 1960s and 70s.

Since his relationship with Andrea, the star has now kept his private life out of the spotlight saying "I just like to do my job and then go home and carry on with my life."

But fans of the actor can get their dose of his as a young Morse in Endeavour on ITV.
